BEITJALA - On Wednesday, March 6th, 024, H.B. Card. Pierbattist Pizzabala, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, blessed the Family Center newly opened in Beit Jala. Learn more about the center, its mission, and services below:
Overview
Aims to serve all Christian families in Palestine, by strengthening the family unit by preserving the bonds of love and family cohesion among its members, in compliance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Mission
Equip families to face the challenges of our day from a spiritual, psychological, and social point of view, with the help of specialists, to prevent any escalation, where the ecclesiastical court might be needed. In cooperation with church and civil institutions, as well as specialists, the office will attempt to resolve many of the issues that confuse and divide the family, to secure the family's future and stability.
Another aspect is the spiritual life of the family. The office will seek to form committees for families in each parish of the diocese, to foster a sense of belonging in the life of the Church, and parish, as well as have regular gatherings. Hence, working up the ladder to reach and provide support for all the families of the diocese.
General courses for families, young adults, and priests based on the needs of each parish, shall be provided. And, the office will develop the course taken by fiancés, which is held annually in our parishes, to help prepare them to deal with hard matters that might come up in marriage and equip them to manage their marital life in sound ways.
Goals
The Office's work is based on the following specific strategies:
- Preventive aspect: Implemented by studying each need and working on choosing courses and training appropriate to each case.
- Therapeutic aspect: Implemented by evaluating and studying each case from all aspects, diagnosing the underlying issues, treating the issues, and having a follow-up to ensure the continued success of the chosen method of treatment.

The main building of the Center is in Beit Jala – Sahel St.
Another branch in Ramallah is in the Latin Monastery building.
In coordination with the parish priests, we will also be able to be present in the parish itself, depending on the case.

General information
- The center belongs to the Latin Patriarchate and operates under its authority and according to its instructions.
- The center does not intervene in the family's finances or accumulated debts.
- There is a nominal fee for the services provided (so that this service includes members of the same family: father, mother, and children), but it should not be a barrier to requesting the service.
- We are committed to strict confidentiality and privacy.
Opening hours
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- The official holidays are Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the official holidays determined by the Patriarchate.
