On Friday, December 30th, 2023, Mgr Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar in Galilee, presided over a Mass at the sisters of Nazareth church.
In his homily, Mgr Nahra spoke about the meaning of holiness and the importance of the family unit: "Holiness is above all a vocation and a gift given to us by the grace of God because He wants Holiness for every human being". He also noted that holiness does not come easily but requires sacrifice, referring to the sword that pierced the heart of Mary. "Following the example of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, when Jesus was presented to the temple by Simon, every family should offer its children to God, because everything was made from him and for him," he concluded by highlighting the importance of unity in a family and the act of prayer together, which help protect the family against the trials of life.
On this occasion, we ask the Almighty God, through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, to protect and bless all our families, to sanctify the work of the parents, and bless the children. Remembering all the family members who passed on to eternal life. May they rest in peace in God's mercy and love.
