For the fifth year in a row, the General Secretariat of Christian Youth in Jordan hosted a celebration on Friday, September 13, 2024, honoring the accomplishments of the class of 2024 graduates.
The event took place at The Terra Sancta College in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, under the patronage of Dr. Haifa Al-Najjar, Minister of Culture. Attendees included various clergy members, representatives from high schools and universities, and the parents of the graduates.
Fr. Wajdi Twal, Chaplain of the Youth in Jordan, gave a speech directed at the graduates, highlighting that their achievements signify the start of new opportunities. He encouraged them to embrace their faith as they begin this new chapter, remembering to contribute to their homeland under its Hashemite leadership and continuing to serve their Church with faithfulness. He urged them to pursue their professional lives with purpose and integrity.
During the event, a video was showcased, highlighting the event’s history and its development over the years. It emphasized the spirit of the Christian Youth in Jordan in celebrating the achievements of their peers and supporting them in becoming active citizens.
Mr. Ibrahim Musallam, the Secretary-General, expressed his joy for the successful completion of their university studies and urged them to remain open to learning beyond academics. He emphasized that true success comes from making a positive impact and engaging with humanitarian issues.
Graduates Wael Hijazin from St. Michael's Youth, who placed third in the Official Exams of the Hashemite Kingdom for the scientific branch, and Faris Qaqish, who secured second place in the industrial branch, shared their experiences, and congratulated their fellow peers and thanked all who supported them in their academic journey.
In closing, Dr. Haifa Al-Najjar expressed her optimism for the graduates, emphasizing their unique success stories and their potential to shape the nation's future with renewed hope and inspiration.
The celebration featured a lively musical performance by the JEC Band, adding to the joyful atmosphere.
Following the ceremony, top students in various academic and vocational categories were honored, along with all participating graduates from different divisions who were recognized for their achievements.
