On February 14, the Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land sent a letter to the Holy Father, expressing solidarity and gratitude for his Petrine ministry. He lived with deep faith in God, great love for the Church with a sense of duty, faithfulness and dedication to his mission in simplicity and humility.
In the letter written on your behalf, the Catholic Ordinaries promised our prayers: “We assure you of our prayers and support of your action … Be assured that we will always praise and thank the Lord for the gift of having you as Supreme Pastor of the Catholic Church.”
On February 28, Pope Benedict XVI will leave his ministry as Bishop of Rome.
Could we accompany him with our prayers?
For this, I shared an idea with priests and their parishioners, monasteries and communities of consecrated life, to organize a time for prayer of Thanksgiving
Mass – Adoration – Liturgy of the Word
for the Pontificate of Benedict XVI that ends at 8:00 p.m (20:00) on February 28, 2013.
Suggested time for prayer on that day is at 21:00 in Palestine, Israel and Cyprus, and 10:00 p.m. in Jordan.
