Honoring the directive of the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem to cancel all non-religious celebrations during the Christmas season, and as a show of respect to all the innocent human loss of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, especially in Gaza, the Latin Patriarchate Administration decided to cancel all the traditional Christmas lunches and dinners that are held annually in the various segments to its 2,000 staff throughout the Diocese. As a show of solidarity with the suffering of so many people, and in the name of all the staff of the LPJ, it was decided to donate the estimated cost of these events of $45,000 to the Emergency Appeal launched by His Beatitude Cardinal Pizzaballa dated 2 November 2023 hoping that this will help alleviate the suffering of so many people throughout Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
