On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the first meeting of the Christian Education Office took place at the Sisters of Nazareth School in Shefa'amr. Key attendees included Fr. Ibrahim Shomali, the office director; Fr. Elie Kurzum, the parish priest of Shefa'amr; Mr. Rami Srour, the school principal; Pastoral Assistant Sister; and Christian education teachers from various educational levels.
Fr. Ibrahim focused on the priority of Christian education in schools, as it was the first goal of establishing the Patriarchate schools. Then he discussed the agenda of the office which includes:
- Establishing a weekly pastoral meeting for those involved in pastoral work and catechesis.
- Discussing educational curricula and extracurricular activities.
- Offering supplementary courses for teachers in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
- Organizing spiritual retreats for catechists.
- Facilitating mutual visits among teachers within the Latin Patriarchate schools.
- Creating a social media group for Christian education teachers to share experiences and resources.
- Developing a website to assist teachers in creating academic support materials.
- Planning a weekly mass for students.
- Encouraging participation in Sunday Mass at local parishes.
The meeting ended with a prayer and the final blessing.
